I really want to change my hair into a more rockabilly esque style but since its so curly is it posi

Ok so, i have recently fallen in love with the rockabilly fashion and music. I love the hair styles but my hair is so curly that i dont know if i could actually do a cute rockabilly style. My hair is about to my shoulders but totally frizzy curly so i dunno if they can cut it a certain way to i can actually do cute rockabilly styles. Is there any place i can go in the L.A. Area that can help me out, where they would know what to do with my hair that isnt to pricey. Or if you have any ideas of what i should do with my hair PLEASE contact me.

1. Check out Lyle Lovett's hair - that's about as good as it's gonna get for you.

Get it relaxed so it will fall into waves.

I have a few suggestions:

1. Look at old family photos. Hair types are inherited. How did relatives with your type of hair wear theirs in the 50s?

2. Go to a library with a good collection of 1950s fashion and hair style magazines. Often, they will give styling instructions as well. If you live in a large city, this would probably be your downtown branch. A university library would also be a good resource. Old newspapers on microfilm would give you at least an idea of what styles girls wore through ads and the "women's" section.

3. Join the Yahoo group Rockabilly Beauty and ask them. Tell 'em Kathy Ann sent you. They're all real nice and a lot of them are from LA. There's even a few hairdressers on board who can help. "msbettyblueeyes" is based in Detroit and a freaking genius with hair. Probably the only reason I wish I still lived there.

Hope these ideas help. Enjoy your new look.
